Project and Results

At PaViVET, we believe that the best way to transform vocational training for people with special needs is to support them in a participatory process that empowers them to take ownership of their learning. That's why we designed a path that ranges from initial research to resource creation and implementation and dissemination.

We began by exploring the terrain by analyzing 40 best practices for self-production of digital media in vocational training and interviewing 40 key stakeholders and professionals in the sector. This work allowed us to identify success factors and real needs for adapting the project to diverse contexts. This work has been compiled into a repository that brings together these 40 documented best practices. This repository is now one of the project's first major results and serves as inspiration for new initiatives.

From there, we designed innovative materials that are now a reality. The heart of this work is a guide composed of ten modules on self-creating educational videos for special needs contexts. Available in several languages, the guide includes guidelines, presentations, and short videos that facilitate direct application in workshops, schools, and workplaces.

These materials, translated and integrated into the website, are designed to train both instructors and facilitators and make the methodology accessible to any interested organization.

We then trained the people who will be the driving forces of change. Fifteen catalysts received intensive international training to extend the methodology within their institutions and become leaders in their settings.

At the same time, we adapted the DigiCom digital competency framework to the context of vocational training for special needs, creating specific descriptors that indicate what instructors and students at basic, intermediate, and advanced levels should know, be able to do, and how to act.

All of this is complemented by a digital micro-credential system that officially certifies the acquired competencies, ensuring that both instructors and students can demonstrate and leverage their new capabilities.

The next step is to pilot the project in real-life contexts, where students apply what they've learned in practical situations. One of the most visible milestones of this process is the production of 150 short videos created by students with special needs themselves. These videos reflect their active participation, learning, and digital empowerment: living proof that the methodology works and leaves a lasting impression.
